Anthony Uhlmann was the leader of the Other Worlds project, and specifically managed, along with Ben Etherington, the Dialogues Theme of the project. He is currently a English Professor in the School of Humanities and Communication Arts at Western Sydney University, but was the Director of the Writing and Society Research Centre for eight years from 2012. He is the author of two monographs on Samuel Beckett, and co-editor of two collections of essays on Beckett. His work focuses on the exchanges that take place between literature and philosophy and the way in which literature itself is a kind of thinking about the world. He has just completed a project on the fiction of J. M. Coetzee, and besides Other Worlds he is researching Spinoza’s influence on literary history and the importance of his philosophy to understandings of artistic practice
